SAVINA = meaning sweet: cherished, beloved, favored, gratifying, agreeable, pleasing to the eye, skillful, proficient…also Saint Savina of Milan gave comfort to prisoners. Her name is a variation of the Latin Sabina.
How Savina Artistry came to be
It all started in a small salon in Bellevue, NE where I worked with an amazing group of stylists who mentored me and showed me the meaning of excellent customer service and what that looked like. We made it a point to know everyone’s name, even the clients who weren’t our own. We wanted each and every person to feel welcome the moment they walked in the door, to the moment they left because we valued them as people, and we saw it as an opportunity to leave them better than when they came. We weren’t just stylists performing services, we were ‘daymakers’ making an impact on individual lives (no matter how small.) Clients loved being there so much, some would stop by just to chat when they were in the neighborhood; almost like a small town barbershop. They would often liken our place to the sitcom ‘Cheers’ where everyone knows your name.(If your too young to know that sitcom… it’s okay.)
As stylist we were dedicated to maintaining a culture that was positive, and of the upmost integrity. We always treated each other with respect and kindness; we helped eachother and accepted one another as we were, which was very refreshing & comforting.
To know with full confidence that your fellow stylists will defend your shortcomings, and love you as you are is rare & priceless.
When it was time to retire from Rejuvenations Salon & Spa, due to a growing family I knew that someday I would want to open a salon of my own where I could work along side these kind of people again, in a culture where people loved to come because they were valued and felt that they belong.
So the began Savina Artistry…
